Moving on to Italy we have the pizza. May be one of the greatest comfort foods there ever was. A universally adored delicacy, the pizza has a really interesting history. Founded around 600 BC, as a Greek settlement, Naples in the 1700s and early 1800s was a thriving waterfront city. Notorious for its poor working population, Naples is where the pizza had originated. The Neapolitans required inexpensive food that could be consumed quickly. Out of that need emerged pizza. A flatbread with various toppings, eaten any hour of the day, and sold by street vendors or informal restaurants. Although loved in modern days, upper class Italians criticized both Neapolitans and the pizza for being utterly disgusting! Fast forward, and right now, the pizza is one of the most craved baked foods ever! To serve you the absolute best pizza, we’ve teamed up with Chef Geovani, an Italian gourmet, kitchen consultant, and food connoisseur! Chef Geovani has guided us through our journey to create the quintessential Italian pizza! And the results? Totally mouth watering and true to its nature! After sinking your teeth into our absolutely delicious pizzas, you’ll definitely feel like you’re in the heart of Naples!

Another dish that probably every Turk loves : the manti! The quintessential Turkish comfort food, manti is a type of dumpling that has been introduced to Anatolia during the Ottoman Empire when nomadic Mongol horsemen carried a dried version of it with them. Within the geography that ranges from China, the Silk Road, and all the way to Anatolia, the dumpling, or Manti as we know it in Turkish, has been interpreted many many times, and has taken both different shapes and names, made with many different fillings and topped with various sauces. Attributed mainly to Kayseri, our version of the classic manti features a deliciously chewy pasta dough that’s rolled out and filled with the highest quality minced beef and spices, then folded and cooked. Our PekFood frozen manti features the thinnest dough possible! Identical to home cooked, our manti is filled with raw minced meat, which is an important quality that differentiates us from other frozen mantis in the market. Coming in three mouth-watering types, this traditional delicacy is served topped with a garlicky yogurt, a melted butter sauce cooked with red peer, and sprinkled with sumac, red pepper, oregano or mint. A dish loved by a vast geography, we hope our manti will give you a celebration of the senses, while taking you on a trip to central Anatolia…
